iCUP DRUG TEST

Uritox Drug Test iCup

What is an iCup Drug Test?

An iCup is a fully-integrated instant urine drug test cup that offers rapid and accurate results. It is one of the simplest drug screening kits in the market, which detects the presence of multiple drugs and drug metabolites in the human urine. The urine collection process is simplified, and provides rapid and reliable test results for illicit drugs of abuse. The iCup drug test device is customizable and can screen up to 15 classes of drugs. The iCup testing kit is FDA Cleared, CLIA Waived and adheres to SAMSHA guidelines.

The iCup drug test device also has an inbuilt temperature strip to measure temperature of the urine specimen as well as offers the option of inbuilt adulteration strips. To alleviate concerns regarding adulteration and tampering, one can choose iCup with inbuilt adulteration strips.

The self-contained cup can be sent to the lab for confirmation of presumed positive specimens.

The drugs of abuse include

  • Amphetamine (AMP)
  • Barbiturates (BAR)
  • Benzodiazepines (BZO)
  • Buprenorphine (BUP)
  • Cocaine Metabolite (COC)
  • Marijuana (THC)
  • MDMA (Ecstasy)
  • Methadone (MTD)
  • Methamphetamine (M-AMP)
  • Morphine (MOP)
  • Opiates (OPI)
  • Oxycodone (OXY)
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)
  • Propoxyphene (PPX)
  • Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCA)

How to use iCup Drug Test?

The pouch should be brought to room temperature before opening it. Use the cup as soon as possible after removing from the sealed pouch.

To begin, unscrew the lid and collect the urine specimen.  The donor needs to provide between 30 mL and 100 mL of urine sample in order to ensure accurate results.  Fasten the lid securely after the specimen has been collected.  After 5 minutes, peel off the label to read results.  Results must be interpreted between 5 and 10 minutes after collection.

The donor’s details can be written on top of the cap to avoid mixup.

How to read iCup Drug Test Results?

After collecting the urine sample, check the temperature within 2 to 4 minutes on the self-adhesive temperature strip. Temperature of the urine specimen should be within 90 to 100 ºF. Read results within 5 to 10 minutes by peeling off the label to reveal drug test strips. Reading the results after 10 minutes is considered invalid.

On the iCup testing panel, the Control Region (C) determines the proper working of the test and the Test Region (T) determines the presence of corresponding drug. First, a red line will start to appear next to the Control Region (C). Then, a red line will appear next to the Test Region (T) if the test is negative for the corresponding drugs listed above. Positive result will show only one line in the Control Region (C) indicating the presence of drug(s) in the sample collected.

  • Negative result - One line in Control Region (C) and one line in Test Region (T).
  • Positive result - One line in Control Region (C).
  • Invalid result - No line in Control Region (C).

Invalid drug test results happen when no line appears in the Control Region (C). Should this occur, repeat the test with a new test device or contact the manufacturer. The invalid result may also be due to incorrect procedure or insufficient volume of sample collected.

When reading the results, do not consider the color intensity of the lines which may appear faint or dark. Even a very faint line in the test region suggests a negative result.

Reading Adulteration Strips

For iCup with inbuilt adulteration strips, adulteration test results should be read within 2 to 4 minutes by peeling off the label. The colors on the adulteration strip should be compared with the color chart provided. If the results suggest adulteration, don’t read the drug test results.

Built-in Adulteration Strip Tests for

  • Oxidants - Normal urine should not contain any traces of oxidants or oxidizing reagents such as bleach, pyridinium chlorochromate and hydrogen peroxide.
  • Specific Gravity - Values outside the normal range (1.003 to 1.030) is considered adulterated or diluted sample.
  • pH – Screens for the presence of acidic or alkaline adulterants in urine. Values outside of normal pH levels (4.0 to 9.0) indicate the specimen to be laced or altered.

How does iCup Drug Test work?

The iCup drug test uses instant immunoassay method for qualitative detection of multiple drugs and drug metabolites in human urine at cutoff thresholds. The built-in adulteration strips monitor the temperature and adulterants of the provided specimen and yield results within 5 minutes.

The iCup drug test is perfect for pre-employment and random drug testing. This instant drug testing solution can be used within:

  • Clinical Settings
  • Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers
  • Manufacturers and Distributors
  • Construction Sites
  • Correction Drug Courts
  • Sports Organizations
  • Schools and Colleges
  • Etc.

How to read 5-Panel iCup Drug Test results?

The iCup Drug Test is a one step screening process that offers fast and accurate results up to 99% in 5 minutes.  The iCup urine drug test kits are available in different configurations, ranging from 3 to 13 panels, to match specific organizational needs.

The 5-panel iCup drug test screens for the presence of 5 major types of drugs of abuse in the urine, i.e., Marijuana (THC), Cocaine (COC), Opiates (OPI), Methamphetamines (mAMP) and Amphetamines (AMP). It can detect one or more drugs of abuse in the urine instantly when the cutoff threshold for corresponding drugs exceeds.

After collecting the urine specimen in the iCup, wait for 5 minutes and peel off the label on the result window. Red lines will appear in all five control regions (C) on the panel if the test process is working appropriately. Negative Result, two red lines will appear in the Control Region (C) and Test Region (T) for the corresponding drug screened. Positive Result, only one red line will appear in the Control Region (C) for the corresponding drug screened.

One can have a negative or positive result for all, one or more drugs. It is an economical solution for multidrug testing with instant and accurate results.

If the preliminary results turn positive, a second method of screening such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) through certified lab can be done for confirmation.

Certain foods, medicines, nutritional supplements or certain diet plan drugs may yield a false positive test result. If the specimen is diluted or adulterated, the product may also yield negative result.
